Another fantastic element is the direct control option. Anybody who's ever played that game and had fun with love these. This reminds me of one of my favorite games of this type ever, which I played over and over despite not having a skirmish more, Shadow Company: Left For Dead. Breaking down the strategy beyond a tactical level is unprecedented and really fleshes out the skill in a player. A lot of people complain about the micromanaging but that has got to be my favorite part. These games have so much that sets they apart from other, similar games. Now that I have them, and the DCGs for both games, all installed and working perfectly, I can say the games are excellent! I've played soooooooo many RTT and RTS games over the years (partial to WWII titles and those with some realism like WIC, RON, CoH, Empires:DOMW and the early C&C games).

If I hadn't downloaded, installed and run the Dynamic Campaign Generator for the original game with success and felt confident I could achieve the same success with these, I wouldn't have purchased them. The skirmish mode the Assault Squad talks about is really just 15 missions with some degree of variance that you can play over and over again. Loved the original, but like the original, the lack of a true skirmish mode is unacceptable.
